Back to School: Home Work Spaces

It’s that time of the year again! Summer is coming to a close and it’s time to send our little ones off to school for another year of mind expanding education!  So, if you’re tired of cleaning notebooks, markers, pencils and papers off the kitchen table – try creating a just-for-them work space to keep homework, studying and the supplies that go with it in one place!  Make it fun for them!

The key to creating a great work space for your kiddos is to have a place for everything, so they can find what they need when they need it.  Storage bins are a great way to keep clutter out of site. Creating spaces for different tasks (like a computer station, reading chair, or art space) works great if you have more than one child who uses the space at the same time. Bright, colorful desk accessories will encourage your kids to use their space and make it their own place to be proud of!

Show-and-tell worthy desks

So now that you have ideas on how to arrange the space – we want to show you our favorite trends in kids desks, desk chairs, and  storage!  Lake House X_2540+2550+2555-b Lake House X_2540-b0

The Lake House Kids desk and hutch from NE Kids has built in speakers for your little music lover, (music is okay at low levels during study), and plenty of storage for books, supplies, and a computer or tablet! We love the stone gray color too and its right on trend for fall. For the same look without the hutch you can opt for the basic writing desk with storage drawers. You can see more from the Lake House Kids line from NE Kids here.

This great Cape Cod style desk by Winners Only is the perfect addition to a little girls room. The desk comes complete with a pull out keyboard drawer and three drawers with plenty of room for papers, school supplies (and a few toys of course). Add the optional hutch for added room for books and a few favorite decorative things to make her feel at home. And don’t forget, if you run out of room – which we always do – you can add a bookcase! The clean white finish goes perfectly with hot pink accessories for your little princess and the sweet little floral details give it a vintage flair. To save space and organize the dressers have hidden compartments under jewelry trays, a cork board back to hang up all those A+ papers and dividers in the bigger drawers.
